In order to establish your final energy balance, we ask all customers for a final meter reading. This will ensure that the energy company invoices you accurately rather than based on estimated readings.
If you didn't take a final reading and you don't have access to the property anymore, then we recommend you ask the landlord or letting agent to take a final reading for you and send it to us (or send it to you for you to pass on to us). If it is not possible for you to get hold of the landlord or letting agent, then not to worry, it just means that your final energy balance will be estimated and there is a chance that you may end up being charged for slightly more energy than you actually used.
If we don't hear back from you within 7 days, then the energy company will generate your final balance based on the data that they have available, which may be estimated.
